ACT_006_DOCTOR MIX & THE REMIX_WALL OF NOISE CD Issued on July 13, 2004, on the Acute label, under licence from Seventeen, this compilation CD is exclusive to the USA. It presents for the first time on this territory the complete Wall Of Noise LP, plus a selection of singles A sides and B-sides. Trading in the electro-punk of Metal Urbain for true Metal Machine Music in 1979, Paris's Eric Debris, from then on now known as Doctor Mix, unleashed a new concept with the aid of Metal Urbain band members Hermann Schwartz and Pat Lüger, Doctor Mix & The Remix. With nothing more than a distorted guitar and a fuzzed-out drum machine, Doctor Mix & The Remix mixed originals with drastically distorted and deconstructed cover versions of 60's garage and avant-rock staples (STOOGES, BOWIE, VELVET UNDERGROUND et al.) Acute presents a selection of Doctor Mix & The Remix recordings for the first time on CD in the USA, including the seminal Wall of Noise LP (listed by the JESUS AND MARY CHAIN as one of their top 10 records ever) and many lost and rare tracks. Note : This pressing includes a sleeve based upon the 'No Fun' 7" single sleeve, different from both the japanese and the french pressing. Download "No Fun (single version)" format MP3 128 kbs |
